(APEL) Approved Prior Experiential Learning
(prior experience/industry profesionals)
APEL recognises the value of learning gained both within formal educational institutions, and through experiential learning. It is a process that enables people of all ages and backgrounds to receive formal recognition for skills and knowledge they already possess. A person's learning and experience can be formally recognised and taken into account when seeking a qualification in:
- DEA New build properties (APEL Newly Constructed Dwellings Accreditation)
- NDEA Level 3 & 4 (APEL Accreditation for On Construction Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) production for commercial buildings (new build only)
- DECs Display Energy Certificate (APEL Accreditation for calculation of Operational Ratings (ORs) and the production of Display Energy Certificates (DECs) and associated Advisory Reports (ARs)
In order to qualify a candidate must have formal qualifications in the building and construction industries, or have significant experience working in the field. Both groups of applicants must demonstrate that they have the required knowledge and understanding to meet the required National Occupational Standards for the Accreditation sought.
If you have completed the APEL route with another Accreditation Scheme and wish to transfer to Elmhurst, please contact us on 01455 883 250 and we will be happy to talk you through the process.
